An update from our team

WFSS has operated in South Sudan since 2005, witnessing the country's 2011 independence and navigating periodic unrest. A large part of our success stems from our all-South Sudanese staff and strong local partnerships with NGOs, faith-based organizations, and other stakeholders.

Safety has always been our priority, with established security protocols protecting our team and assets. Despite the ongoing civil war in Sudan, which has brought more refugees to South Sudan, and recent local unrest, our operations continue uninterrupted. WFSS has also been able to provide water, sanitation, and hygiene services to refugee populations.

Our team in South Sudan, led by Country Director Ajang (AJ) Agok and Senior Strategy Advisory Salva Dut, maintains close communication with our US team and board. AJ has just returned from visiting WFSS teams in the field and shared updates.

“We’re monitoring the situation very closely,” reports AJ. “The drilling season is going well, and we are working hard to complete all planned projects before the start of the rainy season in the coming months.”

WFSS looks forward to continuing this impactful work this season and will soon be making plans for the 2025-26 season.
