Rotary Global Grant: Affordable WASH for Wau, South Sudan
Dear Rotary friends,
You understand the vital role access to WASH (Water, Sanitation & Hygiene) plays in the development of communities. People around the world, including over 60 Rotary clubs, and countless individual Rotarians, power Water for South Sudan’s (WFSS) work and have helped drill nearly 500 wells. WFSS also provides vital hygiene education and sanitation services to those in need in South Sudan. One important thing we learned in the time of COVID: our work is more important than ever.
We humbly ask for your support or partnership for an upcoming innovative and sustainable project to expand access to clean water and food. WFSS is part of a Rotary Global Grant application: Affordable WASH for Wau, South Sudan with the following partners:
Host Club: Rotary Club of Wau, South Sudan
International Sponsor: Rotary e-Club of WASH
Implementing partners: Water for South Sudan and Presbyterian Relief and Development Agency (PRDA).
We are looking for Rotary Club partners to participate in this international project. Given the critical importance of District Designated Funds (DDF) commitments in order to secure matching funds from The Rotary Foundation (TRF), we would be grateful if you did one or both of these actions:
Approach your club and ask to support this program
Ask the appropriate club member to approach your district to ask for a district match of DDFs.
Each district is different in how this works so we leave it to you to follow the rules in your own district.
The total Rotary Global Grant project fundraising goal is $65,000. How we reach this will depend a lot on the availability of not only club support but district DDF allocation which TRF will match at 80% starting July 1, 2021.
