Didactic Training
Four-day training program
This four-day training, facilitated by Marina from About Education and co-facilitator Bago Henry, provides eight participants (three females and five males) with best practices in teaching methodology and teaching approach. Participants learn how to develop a teaching plan, manage a classroom, and provide a training plan and evaluation as part of the training. The teaching approach is divided into teacher-centered and student-centered, which has proven effective in many parts of developing countries.
This training aims to develop or improve the didactic skills of trainees so that they can effectively conduct training for students or communities.

Sanitation, Hygiene and Household Water Treatment
Four-Day Training Program
Ten participants attended this four-day program: eight from the Water Institute (WI) Water for South Sudan (WFSS), and two from the private sector. Bago Henry from About Education facilitated the training to refresh participants' knowledge on Sanitation, Hygiene, and Household Water Treatment for rural communities.
Participant Results:
Refreshed knowledge about main sources of contamination, sanitation, hygiene, water treatment, and water storage in rural communities;
Developed a training plan for the community and school settings;
Learned to transfer this knowledge to community members to improve the community's health;
Identified the roles of institutions involved in community and school-based hygiene promotion, as well as water and sanitation programs;
Participants understand gender mainstreaming in the water resources sector.
Upcoming Training Programs
Water for Agriculture
August 2024
This training educates 18-20 participants from the Water Institute (WI), Water for South Sudan (WFSS), and the private sector. Women already practicing agriculture and selling their products in the local market will be selected to participate. This training aims to build the capacity of the WI, WFSS, and local individuals with practical knowledge and skills to improve agriculture production to boost the availability of nutritional food at home and sell the extra food in the market to generate income. (More details will follow after the training is complete).
