Friday Field Update: February 19th, 2021

Our team is hard at work on the ground in South Sudan. We’ve already drilled 10 new wells and repaired 24 older wells this drilling season. The hygiene team has also conducted several trainings, reaching a total of 224 hygiene trainees. Two WFSS drilling teams will work for two months each–drilling, rehabbing, and conducting hygiene trainings, before returning to the Water for South Sudan compound in Wau.

Check out some photos below of our recent work!

Water for South Sudan team members are also in the process of building a water storage tank in Pinydit, Gogrial East County, Warrap state, South Sudan. Once completed, this tank will be filled by a solar-powered pump and connect running water to a school, a market, and a health clinic via pipes and water taps. Our team reports that community members are thrilled to soon have access to clean water, and have been eagerly providing support to our team when necessary.

Check out some photos below of the water storage tank construction. This tank will ensure community members access to clean water in multiple locations: a school, a market, and a health clinic!
