Get To Know Our New Vice President
We are excited to announce Vicki Richardson as the first female Vice President of the WFSS Board of Directors!
About Vicki
Prior to becoming an Officer of our Board of Directors, Vicki has been a member of our Board since September 2019 and a dedicated supporter of WFSS for more than a decade.
Her school, Greece Athena Middle School, has participated in the Iron Giraffe Challenge for the past 10 years and has co-sponsored four wells.
“I was introduced to WFSS in 2013 when our district started using the NYS EL Modules, and A Long Walk to Water was part of the curriculum. I read it that summer and was immediately impacted. Then, when I learned that the WFSS office was here in Rochester, I knew I had to get involved.”
Vicki’s Hope for WFSS
“After reading the book, I was inspired to do something to help Salva in his mission to change people's lives. What an incredible opportunity to actually be able to make a difference and show kids that they have the power to make the world a little better.”
“My hope is that the organization continues to GROW and be able to sustain itself. Similarly, my hope for the people of South Sudan, beyond having access to clean water and hygiene, is for them to have peace.”
“I want people to know that WFSS is changing lives in immeasurable ways- from providing clean water and hygiene education to creating jobs and self-sufficiency for so many people. It is a fiscally responsible grassroots organization dedicated to ensuring that it has as much impact on the ground as possible. I couldn't be more proud to be a part of their work.”
Please join us in congratulating Vicki!
