Why We IGC: Clark Advanced Learning Center

Each month leading up to IGC 2024, we highlight the educators and schools that have been instrumental in inspiring and motivating their students to support clean water projects in South Sudan. Next up is Clark Advanced Learning Center!

This year is Clark Advanced Learning Center’s second year participating in the Iron Giraffe Challenge. Here is what Assistant Principal Mrs. Michele Villwock has to say about her school’s involvement in IGC and why this initiative is impactful.

How did you hear about IGC?

“A former student reached out and shared the information with us.”

What motivated you and your students to participate in this initiative?

“Our Students4H2O Chapter has educated their peers and community on the value of water locally and globally.“

Please share any notable fundraising methods your school utilized during IGC.

“As part of our annual fundraiser, our Students4H2O members sold MudLOVE bracelets during the holidays with all proceeds going to Water for South Sudan. They also sold Unselfie bracelets that donate $1 to a specific charity (stated on each bracelet), and the remaining proceeds went to WFSS.“

Please share how IGC impacted you and your students.

“It has brought awareness to our students.”

The entire Clark Advanced Learning Center school family inspires us! Thank you and your students for sharing your time, passion, creativity, and dedication to making a difference in South Sudan.
