Mark’s Story

Meet Mark!

With Back to School approaching, we couldn’t think of a better time than today to share his story.

Mark is a teacher at the Wutdum Primary School, which was in desperate need of a new well. Before we visited the village, students walked far distances to collect water. Mark also mentioned that “school(s) could remain closed because of a lack of water.” Now, walking for water is no longer a reality but a distant memory.

With the availability of water, the time students previously spent walking for water is now spent in the classroom, working toward becoming future doctors, lawyers, engineers, and even teachers!

Pupils also learned basic hygiene skills, such as cleaning jerrycans, to keep themselves healthy and their new water source clean.

Your support makes this possible for schools (and communities!) in South Sudan, just like Mark’s. Thank you for being a part of our global community.
