Maternal, Infant, and Young Child Feeding (MIYCF) Training Recap

Our nutrition team recently conducted a two-day training program in maternal, infant, and young child feeding practices [MIYCF] to empower mothers and communities in Wau County, Western Bahr El Ghazal State, South Sudan.

It focuses on young people ages 18 to 25 years and caretakers to offer an opportunity to learn a new skill in MIYCF training. Through interactive trainings and practical workshops in collaboration with the health and nutrition sectors, it supports these individuals by preventing malnutrition. This specific MIYCF training is aimed at empowering the young generation on the importance of breastfeeding and the value of protection for children from birth up to 6 months and 24 months of age.

The protection and promotion of appropriate infant and young child feeding help save the lives of the most vulnerable infants and young children and keep them healthy by playing a pivotal role in preventing malnutrition and micronutrient deficiencies. Additionally, it aids new mothers by promoting milk production.

We are so grateful for our supporters and our fantastic team that makes conducting these life-changing projects possible. Thank you for watering the seeds of change in South Sudan!
